World Tang Soo Do Association

The WTSDA was officially chartered November 13-14 1982 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The seeds for the association had been formed 14 years previously when Jae Chul Shin travelled from Korean to the US in 1968 representing the Korean Soo Bahk Do Association. Shortly after this he established the United States Tang Soo Do Federation. In 1982, after growing strongly, the Federation was re-formed into the WTSDA.

At the original charter convention establishing the WTSDA there were 164 charter members representing 12 countries, now the WTSDA has thousands of members from almost 30 countries.

Grandmaster Shin lead the WTSDA until he passed away in July 2012. Grandmaster Beaudoin, a student of Grandmaster Shin since 1962, took over the mantle until his passing in early 2020. Today the WTSDA association is lead by Grandmaster Strong.
